NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans are facing their most important game in nearly a decade Sunday -- a win-and-you're-in contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars to end a playoff drought -- but it's not too early to take a peek ahead to their 2018 slate.
With the Titans securing second place in the AFC South prior to Week 17, the final two pieces of their 2018 schedule are set. They face a cross-country trip to face the AFC West's second-place squad, the Los Angeles Chargers, and they'll host the AFC North's second-place team, the Baltimore Ravens, for the second consecutive season.
Tennessee will also face the East divisions of both the AFC and NFC. There's also a chance the Titans will play a game in London, because they are one of six teams that have not played there. But it's unlikely that would be scheduled as a home game.
The finalized schedule with times and dates typically comes out in April. Let's take a look at their 2018 opponents:
Home opponents
New England Patriots: The Titans are 1-7 against the Patriots in the "Titans era," and they haven't beat New England since 2002. Tom Brady isn't slowing down.
New York Jets: When these teams last played in December 2015, Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for three touchdowns and led the Jets to a 30-8 win over the Titans.
Baltimore Ravens: Tennessee has won its last two home games against Baltimore, including a 23-20 victory in the 2017 season.
Philadelphia Eagles: The Titans are undefeated (2-0) against the Eagles in Tennessee, but those Philadelphia teams didn't have Carson Wentz.
Washington Redskins: Washington has won three of its last four contests against Tennessee, including both games these teams have played in Nashville.
Houston Texans: This matchup has been back-and-forth for the last 15 years, with the Texans having more success recently, but the Titans lead the series 17-15.
Indianapolis Colts: The Titans swept the Colts this season for the first time since 2002, but it'll be more difficult once Andrew Luck returns.
Jacksonville Jaguars: These teams have split their season series every year since 2008, which is incredible consistency.
Road opponents
Buffalo Bills: The Titans have won five of their last six contests against the Bills, including their last three in Buffalo.
Miami Dolphins: This is the third consecutive season the Titans will play in Miami. They won in 2016, before losing in 2017. Not a bad place to road trip.
Los Angeles Chargers: It will be the Titans' first trip to play the Chargers in L.A. They'd better hope it works out better than it did in San Diego, where the Chargers won seven straight meetings with Tennessee.
Dallas Cowboys: In 2010, Tennessee got a win in its only trip to what was then known as Cowboys Stadium. Chris Johnson's 131 yards and two TDs helped the Titans overcome Tony Romo's 400-yard day.
New York Giants: The Titans won their last two games in East Rutherford against the Giants, including a 29-10 win in 2010 when they rode Chris Johnson for 125 yards and two TDs.
Texans: The Texans have won six consecutive contests against the Titans in Houston, including a 57-14 beatdown in October 2017.
Colts: Tennessee finally got the monkey off its back this season by beating Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium for the first time.
Jaguars: The Titans are the only AFC South team that hasn't won the division this decade. And what if Jacksonville gets a solid QB?
