Rapid Reaction: Tennessee Titans

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A few thoughts on the Tennessee Titans' 27-10 loss Sunday to the Indianapolis Colts at LP Field:

What it means: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a lead on the New Orleans Saints but ultimately lost and assured themselves the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft. The Titans will be No. 2. Whatever they do with the pick, it has the sort of value they will hope can help swing things in a much better direction. Tennessee finished the season 2-14 with a 10-game losing streak. They lost each of those 10 to a team that came into the game off at least one loss.

Stock watch: Shonn Greene turned 11 carries into 94 yards, keyed by a 52-yard sprint. That was the best run for the Titans this season, and the best running day. It was a strong finish for the Titans' big back. Still, Tennessee could away from him before the third year of his three-year deal arrives.

Big day: Punter Brett Kern benefited from Joshua Cribbs' decisions. The returner allowed two punts to bounce. One went into the end zone, but the 79-yarder tied the franchise record. Another went 62 yards. In true Titans fashion, they allowed an 80-yard reception by Reggie Wayne to offset the record-tying punt.

Game ball: Tight end and team MVP Delanie Walker spent another day fighting for a bad team. Despite missing a game and a half with a concussion, he set a franchise record for receiving yards by a tight end with 890 on 63 catches. He caught passes from three quarterbacks and had an especially heavy workload as the team's other best tight ends Craig Stevens and Taylor Thompson were lost for the season to injuries pretty early on.

What's next: Monday meetings, exit physicals and a mass exodus by a roster full of guys who have to be happy it's all over.
