GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Former Green Bay Packers tight end Andrew Quarless has been suspended for the first two games of the season, a source told ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter.

The suspension is for a violation of the personal-conduct policy and stems from his arrest in July 2015, when he was charged with a misdemeanor for firing a weapon in public. Shortly before his trial in November, he entered a no contest plea in exchange for the fine, probation and other penalties.

Quarless is currently out of the NFL. He was not re-signed by the Packers following last season, when he caught just four passes for 31 yards in five games. He sustained a knee injury in Week 3 and landed on the temporary injured reserve list. He was activated late in the season but experienced more problems with his knee and was put on season-ending injured reserve shortly before the playoff loss at Arizona.

In his five seasons with the Packers, he caught 89 passes for 940 yards and three touchdowns. He caught one pass for 5 yards in the Packers’ Super Bowl XLV victory.
