CHICAGO -- As the Chicago Bears zero in on free-agent quarterback Mike Glennon, veteran Brian Hoyer removed his personal belongings from his locker at Halas Hall on Tuesday, a source confirmed to ESPN.

CSN Chicago first reported Hoyer saying his unofficial goodbyes at the team facility.

Hoyer, who the Bears do not appear to be serious about bringing back, per the source, will test the market when free agency opens on Thursday at 4 p.m. ET.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Caplan reported on Wednesday that at least two teams have interest in Hoyer being their starter, and that four-to-five teams want him as a backup.

Hoyer, who earned $2 million in Chicago, performed well in five starts for the Bears last year until he broke his left arm at Green Bay in Week 7.

Hoyer, 31, finished the season with 1,445 passing yards, six touchdowns and zero interceptions (98.0 quarterback rating).

An eight-year NFL veteran, Hoyer signed with Chicago last offseason partly because of the strong relationship he enjoyed with Bears offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains, who previously served as Hoyer's quarterbacks coach in Cleveland.

Hoyer started 16 games for the Browns from 2013-14. He made nine regular-season starts for the Houston Texans in 2015, passing for 2,606 yards, 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions. However, Hoyer threw four picks in Houston's playoff loss to Kansas City two years ago, which ultimately led to his release.
