NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- With kicker Ryan Succop and defensive lineman Karl Klug re-signed, the Tennessee Titans have completed agreements with eight players in free agency, four of them players they've retained.
The Tennessean's Jim Wyatt first reported the Succop and Klug agreements.
Here's a run-through of the guys the Titans have signed, in my order of importance:
Outside linebacker Brian Orakpo -- A quality edge rusher who's an impact guy but could be more productive with sacks. He has changed his workout routine in the hopes that three pectoral muscle tears don't portend further issues.
Outside linebacker Derrick Morgan -- Morgan re-signed after visiting Atlanta and Tampa Bay. He's a quality player, a hard worker and a good team guy. Like Orakpo, he needs to finish more as he pursues the quarterback.
Strong safety Da'Norris Searcy -- The former Buffalo Bill brings versatility. He should be mostly a box presence who can help shore up the run defense. He replaces Bernard Pollard.
Receiver Harry Douglas -- He can line up outside or in the slot, and the Titans love guys who can do multiple things. He's not a No. 1 guy, but the Titans are thin at the position even with him. He should be a key contributor, as he was productive in Atlanta.
Defensive lineman Karl Klug -- A great locker-room guy with a knack for rushing the passer inside. His wrestling background helps him succeed in tight quarters.
Punter Brett Kern -- A top-10 punter who got a top-10 contract. The Titans hope to use him less.
Kicker Ryan Succop -- He did solid work in 2014 but didn't have a ton of chances. It's important he's good at kickoffs as well as on field goals.
Long snapper Beau Brinkley -- He’s been fine and it’s a huge hassle to find a guy to do the job if you don’t have one. So the Titans have theirs.
