NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Harry Douglas isn’t Jerry Rice.

But for Titans fans bemoaning the team's addition of the former Falcons receiver: He caught 51 passes for Atlanta last year for 556 yards and two touchdowns.

Only two Titans caught more than that in 2014: tight end Delanie Walker (63) and receiver Kendall Wright (57).

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports it’ll be a three-year deal for Douglas with the Titans.

No, he’s not a stretch-the-field receiver. But the Titans' wide receiver corps is comprised of two guys without any pedigree in Wright and the struggling Justin Hunter, who has yet to prove he can be a successful NFL player.

Douglas is better than Derek Hagan, now a free agent. He’s better than Kris Durham, who didn’t get a restricted free-agent tender.

He’s better than the four other receivers the Titans have under contract: Jacoby Ford, Clyde Gates, Rico Richardson and Josh Stewart.

Tennessee needs to continue to add at the position.

Look for it to consider both veterans and college prospects who rate as precise route-runners.
