Counting down the most iconic SEC plays of the past decade: Nos. 11-15

Think back over the last decade of SEC football. What are the plays that defined those 10 years?

Where do Auburn's Kick Six and Prayer at Jordan-Hare rank on the list? What about Matt Flynn's last-second touchdown pass to Demetrius Byrd to give eventual BCS champion LSU a 2007 win over Auburn? Or any assortment of highlight-reel plays by Johnny Manziel, Tim Tebow and Cam Newton?

Our SEC writers put their heads together and came up with a list of the 25 most iconic plays in the last decade of SEC football. After looking at the first 10 plays on Monday and Tuesday, today we move to plays 11-15:

11. Laquon Treadwell injured against Auburn: This play is unique on the list because it involves more bad than good. The Ole Miss receiver fractured his fibula and dislocated an ankle just before crossing the goal line for the potential winning touchdown against Auburn in 2014. Instead, Tigers linebacker Kris Frost dragged down Treadwell from behind, forcing a fumble and leading to the freak injury. No. 3 Auburn recovers, wins 35-31 and stays in the playoff conversation. No. 4 Ole Miss loses not only the game, but its star player.

12. LSU's fake field goals: Les Miles' trickery plays a leading role in today's choices, including a pair of fake field goals in important victories. The first came in 2007, when eventual BCS champ LSU beat No. 12 South Carolina 28-16. Kicker Colt David caught an over-the-head flip from holder Flynn and raced 15 yards for a touchdown that gave LSU a 21-7 halftime lead. Three years later, LSU trailed Florida 29-26 and ran the same play with 35 seconds to play. Instead of attempting a 53-yard field goal, holder Derek Helton flipped the ball to Josh Jasper, who caught it off a bounce and ran for a first down. Terrence Toliver caught the winning touchdown pass from Jarrett Lee with six seconds to play.

13. Tim Tebow runs over Florida State's Geno Hayes: Florida quarterback Tebow was the leading contender for the Heisman Trophy entering the 2007 showdown with rival Florida State, although Seminoles linebacker Hayes predicted before the game that FSU would "shatter his dream for the Heisman." When Tebow bowled over Hayes in the second quarter, then offered to help Hayes up off the turf (he refused), that set the tone for the Gators' 45-12 win. Tebow's five touchdowns -- three passing, two rushing -- didn't hurt, either.

14. Georgia's Gator Stomp: This 2007 play itself was not especially memorable -- Knowshon Moreno dove into the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown -- but what happened immediately afterward created one of the craziest moments from the Georgia-Florida rivalry. Tired of losing to Florida each year, Bulldogs coach Mark Richt instructed his players to draw a celebration penalty after their first touchdown to generate enthusiasm on his sideline. Richt still maintains that he didn't expect the entire bench to empty onto the field to celebrate in the end zone, but that's what happened. Richt's motivational ploy apparently worked. The Bulldogs won 42-30.

15. DeAngelo Peterson reverse run against Alabama: Here we celebrate more of Les being Les -- this time in 2010. LSU trailed Alabama 14-13 in the fourth quarter and faced fourth-and-1 when Miles was caught on TV bending down to grab some Tiger Stadium grass that he then placed in his mouth. Seconds later, Tigers tight end Peterson rumbled 23 yards for a first down that set up Stevan Ridley's go-ahead touchdown. No. 10 LSU beat No. 6 Alabama 24-21 and knocked the Tide out of contention for its second straight BCS title.
