5th-ranked wideout commits to Florida, upsets his mom (2:10)

No. 40 overall prospect Jacob Copeland breaks down his decision to commit to the University of Florida and why his mom walked out after the announcement. (2:10)

Dan Mullen gained another weapon Wednesday in ESPN 300 WR Jacob Copeland. Below, see how this Under Armour All-American can impact the Gators' passing attack:

What he brings: Copeland brings a strong frame with excellent speed (4.4 40-yard dash) and burst. Sharp route runner who creates great separation out of his breaks. Still refining his overall game and becoming more consistent with his hands.

How he fits: This young man can take the top off a defense and be that vertical threat that is a key component in Mullen's offense. A true speed threat who can also turn the short pass into a big-gainer.

Who he reminds us of: (Tyler Byrd, Tennessee). Similar builds with explosive movements and an aggressive mentality. Both are versatile athletes and perhaps better football players than pure positional prospects.
