WR Kameron Brown, son of Super Bowl MVP, commits to Texas A&M

While Jimbo Fisher and staff are battling to build a transition class with a tough window to accomplish the goal because of the early signing period, the Aggies are off to a roaring start in 2019. Already with a trio of ESPN Jr300 commitments in the fold, including No. 13 overall Brian Williams and quarterback Grant Gunnell, the Aggies added two more key pieces Sunday -- ESPN Jr300 receiver Kam Brown (son of former Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl MVP Larry Brown) and cornerback Bobby Wolfe.

Significance of impact: Brown and Wolfe are key pieces for the Aggies in the building of a top 10 class in 2019. Brown is a known and popular player in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and Wolfe the same in the Houston area. The Aggies' 2019 class now has two ESPN Jr300 prospects from Houston (Gunnell and teammate Chase Lane), and two from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex (Williams and Brown) with Texas A&M expected to add to the total in Dallas-Fort Worth soon. With Texas signing a top three class that could include 30 signees in 2018, the Aggies are in a great position to make the most of the first-year recruiting bounce Tom Herman enjoyed in Austin, and capitalize on the arch-rival's signing a huge class in 2018. Having Fisher's resume selling the ability to come in and compete right away will play big for the Aggies in 2019.

What he brings: No. 113-ranked Brown was a standout at the Under Armour Camp Series stop in Dallas last spring, and followed up with another impressive season on the field. The 6-foot, 165-pounder is a technically advanced receiver for his age, with sure hands and the understanding of how to use his body to shield defenders and catch the ball with the arms extended. He has quickness off the line and in and out of cuts, and enough speed to get vertical against press coverage.

Strength of commitment: With this being Brown's second commitment, and now having gone through the process for about a year, Texas A&M should feel very good about his pledge. Brown and family were in College Station on Sunday after building a solid relationship with the staff since Fisher was hired in December. Even when Brown committed to UCLA in April of 2017, the chances of deciding to stay closer to home were evident and became a reality when decommitting from the Bruins January 23.

Percent chance of the commit holding: 99 percent

Biggest threat: None. The hiring of Fisher, the scheme fit and the momentum with the 2019 class will be nearly impossible for the competition to beat.

For those who fell short, who is next on their board? Notre Dame had Brown high on the board, and Brown made a visit in January. Receiver is not a position short on talent in 2019 around the country, and the Fighting Irish are in on a number of talented prospects, including fast riser Jake Smith out of Arizona, and Kyren Williams out of Missouri.
