Former Alabama running back Altee Tenpenny was killed in a one-car crash in Mississippi on Tuesday. The news was heartbreaking for his former teammates and coaches.
Alabama running back Kenyan Drake, who was a teammate of Tenpenny's at Alabama in 2013 and 2014, wrote a long and heartfelt post on Instagram dedicated to his former teammate.
Tenpenny finished his Alabama career with 218 career rushing yards in 26 games. He transferred to UNLV and then Nicholls State. Tenpenny was dismissed from Nicholls State's football team on Monday after being arrested over the weekend on weapons charges.
Derrick Henry, another current Tide running back, posted this:
Tennessee running back Alvin Kamara, who was Tenpenny's teammate at Alabama in 2013 before he transferred to Hutchinson Community College in Kansas, posted another long tribute to Tenpenny.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Altee and his family," Alabama coach Nick Saban said. "This is obviously a tragedy. This is a guy that was in our program and was good friends with a lot of our players. We're going to be as supportive as possible to all the people that are affected by this."
