Falcons owner Arthur Blank never expected dance moves to be on video

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank didn’t dance to a different beat, at least not in the eyes of his team.

Blank shared his thoughts about his impromptu locker room celebration Saturday following the 36-20 divisional playoff win over the Seattle Seahawks. The team posted a video of Blank breaking it down next to the players and coaches.

"It was just something at the moment," Blank told ESPN.com. "Obviously, it wasn’t planned. I had a bunch of players around me all dancing. I had a coach – Raheem Morris – who encouraged me. I kind of looked over at him and saw him carrying on, looking at me. I felt I had a need to respond to that. It was fun for me. It was fun for the players."

Blank was caught off guard, somewhat.

"I did not know it was being recorded," Blank said with a laugh. "That’s kind of an age thing. At age 74, you don’t think about what’s being recorded and what isn’t."

Blank, who was caught doing the "dab" after the Falcons upset then-undefeated Carolina last season, had his latest dance moves critiqued by the players.

"He’s got some moves, man," receiver Aldrick Robinson said. "I was impressed. The way he clapped was on rhythm. And it was definitely in the moment."

Said rookie linebacker Deion Jones: "I liked it. I thought he had some good moves. He's got some rhythm, though. I appreciated it. I’ve never seen him cutting a rug. To finally see him do it, it was good. It was a great moment for sure."

There's no telling what moves Blank might try to pull off if the Falcons beat the Green Bay Packers for the NFC Championship and a trip to the Super Bowl.

"It's a team game," Blank said. "We all have roles. We all have responsibilities. When we win, we all celebrate together in our own way. And when we don’t win, we deal with it in our ways. As a team, as a brotherhood – as Dan Quinn would express it – we move on together."
