FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus was benched for the entire first half of Sunday's season finale against the New England Patriots for a violation of team rules.
This is the second consecutive week that Dareus has been benched for a violation of team rules. He sat out the entire first quarter of last Sunday's win against the Miami Dolphins.
"That's behind us," coach Doug Marrone said after the Dolphins game.
"It's not really nothing important. It's just a quarter," Dareus said following the Miami win. "You suffer your consequences, roll on with them, do the best you can."
The team has not provided details on what rules Dareus violated, but WGR 550 reported that Dareus had been "habitually late" to team meetings.
Corbin Bryant started in place of Dareus against New England.
