Perhaps no player on the Miami Dolphins roster knows Ndamukong Suh better than offensive lineman Jason Fox.
Not only did Fox spend four years together with Suh as members of the Detroit Lions -- they were part of the same 2010 draft class -- but the two battled plenty of time through the years on the practice field and during training camps.
Now, there is a possibility that Suh could join Fox in Miami. The Dolphins reportedly are one of the many teams interested in the biggest free-agent prize on the open market this offseason.
Fox, who signed a two-year, $2.5 million contract with Miami Thursday, shared some thoughts on his former teammate.
"He's obviously a dominant player," Fox said on a conference call. "He's one of the best defensive tackles, if not the best defensive tackle in the NFL. He's a game-changing type of player."
Fox also provided insight on what Suh is like as a teammate in the locker room.
"He's not the 'rah-rah' guy and he speaks up when he feels like it's necessary," Fox explained. "He's one of the guys that leads by example. He's a hard worker and obviously that shows."
The Dolphins cleared cap room by cutting cornerback Cortland Finnegan, offensive lineman Nate Garner and receivers Brian Hartline and Brandon Gibson in the past week. As of Tuesday, Miami was approximately $15.4 million under the cap, although Fox's contract changes that a little.
Suh will not come cheap and there will be plenty of suitors. A bidding war could ensue where it may cost a team $15 million per year or more to land Suh's services.
Based on Fox's reviews of his former teammate, Suh is worth the hefty price.
