Oakland Raiders' projected roster

Examining the Oakland Raiders' roster:

QUARTERBACKS (3)

In Trent Edwards' most action of camp, he threw an interception. So, no changes here.

RUNNING BACKS (4)

Kory Sheets was seemingly making a move on Atkinson, but Atkinson's ability to return kicks gives him the edge ... for now.

FULLBACKS (2)

Expect to see a slimmed-down Reece used more in the passing game.

RECEIVERS (6)

We'll put Butler on the squad here instead of Juron Criner, mostly because Criner only recently returned to practice from injury.

TIGHT ENDS (2)

If the Raiders carry a third tight end -- Nick Kasa, perhaps -- where do they get the other roster spot?

OFFENSIVE LINEMEN (9)

Bergstrom getting some run at second-team center would suggest his versatility warrants a roster spot.

DEFENSIVE LINEMEN (8)

The D-line is getting healthy.

LINEBACKERS (6)

Burnett says he's coming after Mack for the starting SAM spot. Maiava, meanwhile, needs to get his hamstring mended and get on the field.

CORNERBACKS (6)

Let's stick with our doomsday scenario, for now, of Chekwa taking the place of DJ Hayden, and Hayden headed to injured reserve. And if the Raiders keep seven cornerbacks, where do they find the extra roster spot?

SAFETIES (4)

Ross had an interception this week, while Usama Young remains on the PUP list.

SPECIALISTS (3)

It's all about trust and familiarity with this trio.
