The roster of the Kansas City Chiefs is at the NFL limit of 90 players. While they could still make a personnel move or two, the roster they have now is at least close to the one they will take to training camp this summer at Missouri Western State University.

Here, we’ll continue a series that looks at their roster by position. This time, it’s the wide receivers. We started with the running backs, quarterbacks and tight ends.

With the Chiefs last year: Jason Avant, Armon Binns, Frankie Hammond Jr., Junior Hemingway, Fred Williams, Albert Wilson.

New to the Chiefs: Da’Ron Brown, Chris Conley, Kenny Cook, Donatella Luckett, Jeremy Maclin, Da’Rick Rogers.

Analysis: The Chiefs didn’t completely turn things over at this position group, but came about as close as reasonably possible. Dwayne Bowe, Donnie Avery and A.J. Jenkins are gone. The Chiefs are counting heavily on Maclin to be the kind of presence they’ve lacked for the last few seasons at wide receiver, since Bowe was early in his career. Andy Reid and many of the offensive coaches are familiar with Maclin’s abilities from the Philadelphia Eagles. So Maclin should be able to produce immediately. Otherwise, the Chiefs will be counting mostly on players returning from last year. Wilson is first in line to win the other starting job. An undrafted rookie last year, Wilson came on toward the end of the season. That development was encouraging to the Chiefs. Rogers’ off-field troubles have threatened his career, but he's talented enough to make a difference. The Chiefs will give the slot receiver snaps to Avant, De’Anthony Thomas and possibly Hemingway, if he makes the roster.
