Bills' Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods held out of Tuesday practice

PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- Top Buffalo Bills wide receivers Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods both sat out Tuesday's joint practice with the Cleveland Browns because of soreness.

Watkins did not finish Monday's practice because of soreness in his glute. The second-year receiver, who underwent offseason groin surgery, has dealt with soreness in his hip/groin area at various points during training camp.

"So we are obviously going to be a little leery of that," coach Rex Ryan said, noting Watkins' absence Tuesday was precautionary.

Woods initially walked to the practice field Tuesday in a helmet and full pads but later walked back to the locker room. He returned later to watch practice in a T-shirt and shorts.

"Probably [because of ] the extended [practice time Monday], he felt tight," Ryan said. "He tried to come out here today and we are just being smart with him."

Woods was one of four healthy receivers by the end of Monday's practice. Even though Woods sat out Tuesday's practice, the Bills had three receivers -- Marquise Goodwin, Chris Hogan and Tobais Palmer -- return to action after experiencing heat-related issues earlier this week.
