Bills' Fred Jackson on IK Enemkpali punch: 'I frankly don't care'

PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills veteran running back Fred Jackson brushed off questions about his team surprisingly claiming linebacker IK Enemkpali off waivers Wednesday.

"It's something that I care nothing about," Jackson said. "When he gets here, it's not something that I'm gonna ask him about, trying to figure out what happened because I frankly don't care. He's a guy that's coming in here to help us win football games, and that's what he comes in here and he does, I could care less what he did in New York."

Jackson doesn't feel that Coach Rex Ryan even needs to address the decision with his team.

"Not at all," Jackson said. "It's not something that we need to address. Like I said, what happens in New York, happened there. It's not something that we have to worry about here in Buffalo.”

Altercations, like that involving Enemkpali and Jets quarterback Geno Smith, happen more often than some realize, Jackson asserted.

"I honestly don't know what happened in the locker room," Jackson said. "Guys get into altercations all the time, though. It's not out of the ordinary to hear about two guys getting in physical fights. When he comes in here, he's got a clean slate. What happens in New York, happened there. It's not what's gonna happen when he gets here to Buffalo."

Jackson also doesn't feel like the NFL needs to get involved in curbing scuffles between teammates.

"It's something you don't want to see happen, but I think guys can monitor that themselves," he said. "I don't think it's something that needs to be brought to the attention of the league. In certain locker rooms, you'll have certain guys that kind of step in and prevent that stuff from happening. That didn't happen in New York. It's an unfortunate situation where somebody ended up having to miss a lot of games during the season."
