Quick-hit thoughts: With Chris Williams missing Saturday's game with a lower back injury -- a surprise, given that he practiced all of last week -- the Bills turned to Richardson in his place. We've seen Richardson mostly at right guard this summer, so left guard was a change for him. Meanwhile, we saw Urbik and Legursky with the second team, further advancing the idea that they could be battling for one spot. Urbik, who has traditionally played guard, lined up at center.
Quarterbacks

Quick-hit thoughts: This was the head-scratching personnel decision of the game. Dixon has barely played this preseason, seeing only two snaps in a kneeldown situation, and doesn't take many reps in practice. He's been the definition of a "camp arm." Why not continue to evaluate Tuel and Lewis to figure out who will be the better backup to Manuel? Instead, Dixon saw six plays, three of which he lost the football. The ball security issues led Doug Marrone to replace him with Tuel for the remainder of the game, and Tuel remains the front-runner for the No. 2 job.
Running backs
C.J. Spiller -- 32 of 77 (starter)

Quick-hit thoughts: After Dixon and Brown split carries evenly last week (18 snaps week), Dixon didn't play at all offensively Saturday. It could be further evidence that the Bills will stick with Spiller and Jackson as their top two backs, and Brown and Dixon will only be change-of-pace options in certain situations. Marrone said he doesn't game-plan with more than two running backs and that showed against the Buccaneers. The Bills will need more production, though, out of both Jackson (minus-2 yards in first half) and Spiller (27 yards in first half).
Fullbacks

Quick-hit thoughts: If Rodriguez makes the 53-man roster, it will be for his contributions on special teams. He hasn't pushed Summers to be the fullback.

Quick-hit thoughts: Without Watkins, the Bills leaned more heavily on Woods and Williams in the first half (six targets) but didn't come away with much to show for it (two catches). In a change from the first three preseason games, Goodwin was the third receiver on the field. He later left with a neck injury, as did Graham. After a down week against Pittsburgh, Hogan didn't enter until the second quarter. Unless Goodwin's injury is serious, this position group seems fairly set. Graham may not make the cut.
Tight ends

Quick-hit thoughts: Smith started the game as a blocker, as is typically the case, and was replaced by Chandler on passing downs. Chandler slipped on his route early in the first quarter, leading to a Manuel interception. Gragg received more playing time with Manuel than he's seen this preseason and had some production to show for it (four catches). Is there a spot for Moeaki, who can't seem to get healthy?
