OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- The Baltimore Ravens were missing 17 players from Thursday's voluntary organized team activity, including eight starters.
Quarterback Joe Flacco (knee), linebacker Terrell Suggs (Achilles), wide receiver Steve Smith (Achilles), cornerback Jimmy Smith (foot) and offensive tackle Eugene Monroe (shoulder) were expected to be out because they're recovering from surgeries. Guard Marshal Yanda and linebacker Elvis Dumervil typically don't report until mandatory minicamp. The only surprise absence was linebacker C.J. Mosley.
The others not present were: wide receiver-returner Keenan Reynolds (graduation), defensive end Bronson Kaufusi (back), wide receiver Michael Campanaro (leg), running back Kenneth Dixon, running back Trent Richardson, defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore, cornerback Jumal Rolle (Achilles), linebacker Mario Ojemuia and defensive tackle Michael Pierce.
With Flacco expected to miss all of the offseason workouts, Ryan Mallett, Jerrod Johnson and Josh Johnson took the reps at quarterback.
