BALTIMORE -- Justin Tucker overcame two missed field goals to hit the winning 47-yard kick in 20 mph winds, lifting the Baltimore Ravens to a 16-13 win over the St. Louis Rams.

Tucker, the second-most accurate kicker in NFL history, had missed from 51 yards twice in the game, including one in the fourth quarter. It came two days after Tucker announced that he and his wife were expecting their first child.

All three of the Ravens' wins this season have come on a Tucker field goal. This time it was set up by a sack and forced fumble by Courtney Upshaw, who had gone 36 straight games without a sack.

What it means: The Ravens (3-7) avoided their worst start after 10 games in the 20-year history of the franchise. Baltimore made plenty of mistakes (two interceptions thrown by Joe Flacco) and penalties (10 flags for 137 yards) but did enough to overcome a 13-3 deficit.

What were they thinking? On their first drive of the second half, the Ravens went for it on fourth-and-11 at the St. Louis 33-yard line. The wind likely played a major factor in not trying a 50-yard field goal. The real head-scratcher was Flacco throwing a five-yard pass to fullback Kyle Juszczyk, which was six yards short of the yard marker.

Fantasy watch: RB Buck Allen is now the Ravens' starter after Justin Forsett broke his right arm. He finished with 67 yards on 22 carries and gained some tough yards in the fourth quarter to set up Tucker's winning kick.

Ouch: RB Justin Forsett, the 10th-leading rusher in the NFL, broke his arm in the first quarter, becoming the latest significant Ravens offensive player to go down with an injury. LT Eugene Monroe (shoulder) left in the third quarter and was replaced by James Hurst. That meant Baltimore played without three starters on the offensive line: Monroe, LG Kelechi Osemele (inactive, knee) and C Jeremy Zuttah (IR, partially torn pectoral muscle).

What's next: The Ravens play at the Cleveland Browns (2-8) on Monday Night Football on Nov. 30. The teams have split their past four meetings.
