Matt Ryan, Julio Jones among six Falcons selected to Pro Bowl

SELECTIONS

Matt Ryan, QB, fourth Pro Bowl selection: The MVP candidate, named the NFC starter, has put up some monster numbers with 4,336 passing yards and 32 touchdowns with just seven interceptions. Ryan set a franchise record with 503 passing yards in a win over Carolina. He's completing 68.6 percent of his passes, the same percentage he had during the 2012 season when he passed for a career-high 4,719 yards. And Ryan still has two games to go.

Julio Jones, WR, fourth Pro Bowl selection: The league's most dangerous big-play threat currently leads the league with 1,253 receiving yards despite missing two games with a sprained toe. Jones also set a franchise record in the win over Carolina with 300 receiving yards. He has seven games of 100-plus receiving yards this season.

Vic Beasley Jr., OLB, first Pro Bowl selection: The 2015 first-round draft pick from Clemson has taken his game to another level while leading the NFL with 14.5 sacks, one ahead of Super Bowl MVP Von Miller. Beasley also leads the NFL six forced fumbles, creating havoc with his devastating speed and tremendous athleticism.

Devonta Freeman, RB, second Pro Bowl selection: Freeman has started to find his stride with seven rushing touchdowns over the last four games. Freeman is 70 yards away from his second consecutive 1,000-yard season.

Alex Mack, C, fourth Pro Bowl selection: Mack probably was the best free-agent acquisition in the league after coming over from the Cleveland Browns. He's helped keep the pocket clean for Ryan while also clearing holes in the running game with his athleticism and ability to get out and block in space.

Matt Bryant, K, first selection: The veteran of 15 years makes the Pro Bowl for the first time. He's been reliable during a very down year for kickers, hitting 29 of 31 field goals -- including a 59-yarder -- and missing just one extra point.

SNUBS

Patrick DiMarco, fullback: DiMarco, an alternate last season who made it anyway, has blocked at a Pro Bowl level all season. He certainly would love to play in this game in his hometown of Orlando. However, DiMarco, like his teammates, would much rather play in the Super Bowl.
