GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Four more Arizona Cardinals left Tuesday’s practice with presumptive injuries, but details won’t be available until coach Bruce Arians meets with the media Wednesday morning.
Three of the four were on the offensive line.
First-round pick D.J. Humphries was injured early in practice while working on the team’s short field at University of Phoenix Stadium. He didn’t participate in the rest of practice.
Tackle Rob Crisp, guard Earl Watford and running back Marion Grice all reportedly left practice, as well.
The quartet adds to an injury list that’s already at least eight players deep, including LB Sean Weatherspoon, RB David Johnson, LB Darryl Sharpton, TE Ted Bolser, LB Zack Wagenmann, LB Shaq Riddick, RB Andre Ellington and TE Troy Niklas.
Toward the end of practice, tackle Cameron Bradfield had an ankle taped on the sideline but returned to the field.
The practice was the Cardinals' fourth straight to start camp and second with pads. Arians ended it 25 minutes before its scheduled finale.
“He told us upfront if we get through the whole script, we’re going to shut it down early,” linebacker Alex Okafor said. “There’s no point in overdoing it. No point in running plays bad. We’re professionals, so if we get done early no point in just dragging on.”
Among the other highlights from Tuesday’s practice were:
A leaping one-handed catch over two defensive backs by receiver Jaron Brown that was quite impressive.
Defensive end Calais Campbell intercepted a pass and then handed the ball off to safety Tyrann Mathieu.
Rookie J.J. Nelson caught a pass that was initially thought to be overthrown.
Robert Hughes caught a pass from quarterback Drew Stanton inside the 5-yard line and took it in for a touchdown to cap a long drive.
Phillip Sims hit receiver Jaxon Shipley on a pretty over-the-shoulder fade.
