Here are the most significant NFL injuries in Week 6:
Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers: Landing awkwardly after taking a hit from Anthony Barr, Rodgers walked off the field under his own power, but he was replaced by Brett Hundley for the next play. Rodgers then headed to the medical evaluation tent on the sideline before being carted back to the locker room for further evaluation. He was declared questionable to return with a shoulder/collarbone injury but was downgraded to out near the start of the second half.
Shortly after downgrading him to out, the Packers announced that Rodgers has a broken collarbone and that there's a chance he could miss the rest of the season. On Monday, Packers coach Mike McCarthy indicated that Rodgers will have surgery "in the near future," and his season "potentially could be over."
Matthew Berry suggests what to do after a big week of injuries to Jameis Winston, Golden Tate, Emmanuel Sanders and Leonard Fournette.
Leonard Fournette, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars: Fournette appeared to hyperextend his right knee during a run in the fourth quarter. He hopped awkwardly to the sideline afterwards and was spotted having his right foot examined by Jaguars medical staff. The team quickly declared him questionable to return because of an ankle injury but shortly thereafter announced that he would return to the field on the next offensive possession. He did not return -- due to game flow -- and after the game, Jaguars coach Doug Marrone commented that Fournette has a sprained ankle, the severity of which will be determined after further testing.
Jameis Winston, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Winston was knocked out of the game during the second quarter as he was tackled by Chandler Jones and landed hard on his throwing shoulder. He was examined on the sideline, and the team quickly declared him doubtful to return with a shoulder injury; he did not return. Ryan Fitzpatrick took over as the Bucs' quarterback in Winston's absence. After the game, Bucs coach Dirk Koetter indicated that the X-rays on Winston's shoulder were negative, but that he'll undergo an MRI on Monday.
Monday afternoon, Koetter updated the situation, indicating that Winston has a sprain in the AC joint of his throwing shoulder, and the QB is considered day-to-day.
Trevor Siemian, QB, Denver Broncos: Following an interception by Janoris Jenkins, Siemian dove in an attempt to tackle the Giants cornerback, and landed awkwardly on his left arm and shoulder. He came out of the game immediately to be examined by Broncos medical staff, and Brock Osweiler took over in his stead. Siemian retreated to the locker room, and was declared questionable to return due to a shoulder injury. Siemian made his return in the second half.
Emmanuel Sanders, WR, Denver Broncos: While Sanders was running a crossing route in the third quarter, Giants safety Landon Collins made a diving play for the ball on the ground, colliding with Sanders' legs in the process. During the hit, it appeared Sanders sustained a lower-leg or ankle injury. After being helped off the field and examined by medical staff, Sanders was declared out of the game due to an ankle injury.
On Monday, Broncos coach Vance Joseph indicated that Sanders is week-to-week with the ankle injury, and will miss the club's Week 7 matchup against Los Angeles.
Jonathan Allen, DL, Washington Redskins: Allen suffered a Lisfranc sprain in his left foot, and early speculation suggests he could miss a month. He will visit Dr. Robert Anderson for a more complete diagnosis.
Patrick Peterson, CB, Arizona Cardinals: Peterson exited the game in the fourth quarter due to a quad injury.
Tyreek Hill, WR, Kansas City Chiefs: At the tail end of a return in the fourth quarter, Hill took a brutal hit, and he exited the game thereafter. After the game, coach Andy Reid confirmed that Hill is in the concussion protocol.
Charcandrick West, RB, Kansas City Chiefs: West was pulled out of action in the third quarter, and the team announced that he is in the concussion protocol.
Marcus Gilbert, OT, Pittsburgh Steelers: Gilbert sustained a hamstring injury in the second quarter and was designated questionable to return.
Corey Liuget, DT, Los Angeles Chargers: A back injury sidelined Liuget in the second half, and the team declared him questionable to return.
Xavier Williams, DT, Arizona Cardinals: Williams exited the game in the third quarter and was deemed questionable to return with a knee injury.
Anthony Barr, LB, Minnesota Vikings: After a notable first half, including knocking Aaron Rodgers out of the game, Barr was himself removed from the contest because of a concussion and was declared out for the duration.
Glover Quin, S, Detroit Lions: Quin was injured trying to tackle Saints running back Alvin Kamara on a first-and-10 from the New Orleans 46-yard line. When Quin was trying to tackle Kamara, teammate A'Shawn Robinson's knee appeared to collide with his helmet, and he remained down for a few minutes before being taken straight to the locker room. The team subsequently announced that Quin was out for the remainder of the game because of a brain injury.
Greg Robinson, OT, Detroit Lions: Robinson sustained an ankle injury during the fourth quarter and was carted off to the locker room.
Golden Tate, WR, Detroit Lions: Tate was assisted to the locker room by Lions medical staff in the fourth quarter and was originally declared questionable to return with a shoulder injury before being downgraded to out.
Mike Pouncey, C, Miami Dolphins: Pouncey left the game in the first half, and the team announced shortly thereafter that he is being evaluated for a concussion and was questionable to return.
Bryan Bulaga, OT, Green Bay Packers: Bulaga left the game in the second half and was declared out with a concussion.
Chris Hogan, WR, New England Patriots: Hogan was hit hard in the torso by Jets safety Marcus Maye. He remained on the ground but was able to get up and walk off the field under his own power. After skipping a few plays, he returned to the game on the next drive.
Arik Armstead, DE, San Francisco 49ers: Armstead left the game in the second quarter against Washington and was declared questionable to return with a hand injury before being downgraded to out in the second half.
Breshad Perriman, WR, Baltimore Ravens: The team declared Perriman out because of a concussion.
Maxx Williams, TE, Baltimore Ravens: On a play during which he fumbled the ball, Williams appeared to be kneed in the head as his legs were tangled with two Bears defenders. He appeared woozy while being helped to the sideline and headed to the locker room after being examined on the sideline. He was subsequently declared out for the remainder of the game because of an ankle injury.
Dylan Cole, LB, Houston Texans: After leaving the game during the second quarter, Cole was designated questionable to return because of a hamstring injury. Subsequently, he was downgraded to out.
Bashaud Breeland, CB, Washington Redskins: Breeland exited the game during the second quarter and was deemed questionable to return because of a hamstring injury. After returning in the second half, Breeland appeared to injure his knee as 49ers tackle Joe Staley went low on a block. He was helped off the field and was not putting any stress on his left foot en route to undergoing further examination. The team again deemed him questionable to return. After the game, coach Jay Gruden indicated that Breeland would undergo an MRI to assess the extent of the injury.
Lane Taylor, OG, Green Bay Packers: After remaining on the ground for a couple of minutes, Taylor was able to walk off on his own after he appeared to get his right knee rolled into during a sack of Hundley. He was declared questionable to return because of knee and ankle injuries but was downgraded to out early in the second half.
Stefan McClure, S, Washington Redskins: McClure injured his leg during the first quarter and was later declared questionable to return because of knee and ankle injuries.
Thursday
Luke Kuechly, LB, Carolina Panthers: Kuechly entered the concussion protocol Thursday after he collided with Eagles guard Brandon Brooks and hurt his shoulder and neck. But he was at the team's training facility Friday and felt fine, according to those around him, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Kuechly missed the final six games last season with a concussion, and he has had at least two in the past two years. His availability for Week 7 against the Bears is in question.
Fozzy Whittaker, RB, Carolina Panthers: Whittaker was carted to the locker room in the first quarter with a right ankle injury, and did not return to the game. He was spotted on the sidelines with crutches and a walking boot later in the contest.
