Top laner Lee "Duke" Ho-seong announced Thursday that he is leaving Invictus Gaming's League of Legends team.
"Even though I'm going to leave iG soon, I was very happy in iG," Duke wrote in a post on Weibo, according to a translation from a former account manager for the League of Legends Pro League's English language account, @lplenglish. "In my heart, I'll always remember these three years of beautiful moments."
The team had not made an official announcement.
Duke joined Invictus in December 2016 and earned a world championship with the team in 2018. Invictus Gaming reached the semifinals at the League of Legends World Championship last week before falling in the semifinals to FunPlus Phoenix, but Duke was not part of the playing roster.
"Even though we achieved extremely good results last year, this year's results weren't very ideal both for the team and for me personally," Duke wrote. "Not being able to play at Worlds left behind a lot of regrets too."
The 24-year-old from South Korea previously played for SK Telecom T1, NaJin e-mFire, NaJin Black Sword and KT Rolster Bullets.
