The 2025 World Series of Poker begins Tuesday in Las Vegas with the first of 100 bracelet events.
The 56th iteration of the WSOP begins at 3 p.m. ET, with the ceremonial "shuffle up and deal" moment at Paris Las Vegas, followed by the first event, the no-limit hold 'em Mystery Millions, which features two bounties worth $1 million, in addition to many other bounty prizes. WSOP action will also take place at the Horseshoe Casino this year.
This year's $10,000 buy-in main event begins July 2 and concludes July 16. It will feature four days of starting flights. The 2024 main event attracted a record 10,112 players, surpassing the previous mark of 10,043 set in 2023 and generating a new high mark for the prize pool of $94,041,600. Jonathan Tamayo of Texas won last year's main event and $10 million grand prize. Overall, the 2024 World Series of Poker had a record 229,553 entries.
Prominent professional poker player Phil Hellmuth, who won the 1989 World Series of Poker and is the all-time bracelet leader (17), initially said he planned to skip this year's main event, citing concerns about the tournament's grueling schedule.
