Underdogs keep barking. Division-leading teams keep losing. The past few weeks in the NFL have brought endless chaos, and it has been kind of fun to watch. It seems that the higher teams rank in the power rankings these days, the more susceptible they become to a slipup.
Let's take a look at the latest rankings and see who might be in danger this week.
Tennessee Titans (3)
It feels like I keep writing about the Titans and how they are ranked way too high in these Power Rankings. I'm shocked they didn't fall further after losing at home to the woeful Houston Texans. This team is struggling mightily without Derrick Henry on offense. Julio Jones is on IR. A.J. Brown seemingly can't escape a game without suffering some kind of bump or bruise. The Titans seem like a team that wildly outperformed its actual ability in the first half of the season and is due for some major regression in the second half. I'll keep fading them like I have every week since the Henry injury. This week that means the Patriots (-5.5) at home look really nice.
Green Bay Packers (2) and Los Angeles Rams (4)
This should be the most compelling game on the Week 12 slate. The Packers are coming off a tough loss in a shootout with the Vikings in Minnesota. Aaron Rodgers is nursing a toe injury, but no QB played better last Sunday in the entire NFL than the league's reigning MVP. The Rams, meanwhile, are in the midst of a midseason metamorphosis, and it has come with some growing pains. L.A. lost each of its last two games before the bye in alarming fashion. It also lost team captain Robert Woods to a season-ending knee injury. Overshadowing those disappointments are the additions of Von Miller and Odell Beckham Jr., two of the biggest stars in the game. Sean McVay had the bye to get the two acclimated to the system, and both will be necessary immediately in a matchup with Rodgers. The Packers are laying only between a point and a pick 'em at home Sunday afternoon, and that seems like a bargain against a Rams team that will probably take a few weeks to adjust to its new pieces.
Indianapolis Colts (10)
This might be the scariest team in the NFL right now. With most of the league leaning into heightened pass rates and spreading teams out, the Colts are going old school with the most efficient running game in the NFL. Jonathan Taylor has entered the MVP discussion thanks to eight straight games with 100-plus total yards of offense and a TD. If Quenton Nelson is OK to play against Tampa Bay and Bucs NT Vita Vea is still out, this might be the perfect time to catch the Bucs and have the Colts (+3) spring the upset on Tampa Bay.
