LSU fired head coach Les Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron Sunday. With 20 total commits, including 12 ranked in the ESPN 300, the Tigers currently have the fourth-ranked recruiting class in the country.
While there haven’t been any decommitments so far, several LSU commits and recruiting targets took to social media and other outlets to voice their opinions.
The Tigers’ top-ranked commit, offensive tackle Austin Deculus, said he will take a wait-and-see approach before determining what happens next with his recruitment.
“I honestly did see it coming,” Deculus said. “I’m going to wait and see what the final changes are before anything happens.”
ESPN 300 safety commit Grant Delpit remains solid in his commitment to the Tigers.
“I am still committed to LSU and I will always love Coach Miles and Coach Cameron and wish the best to them,” Delpit said.

The second-ranked cornerback in the country, Kary Vincent Jr., much like Delpit, said he will remain committed to the Tigers.
“It's unfortunate,” Vincent said. “I have so much love for Coach Miles but I will be a Tiger.”

While Delpit and Vincent seem to be solid with their commitments, another ESPN 300 commit, offensive lineman Edward Ingram didn’t sound quite as sure.
“It was a shock to me,” Ingram said. “I really don’t know whether it affects my decision or not right now.”
ESPN 300 quarterback commit Myles Brennan, a key piece of the 2017 class, also sent out a tweet about Miles and Cameron, but Brennan did later confirm he was still committed to the Tigers.
A few ESPN 300 targets, including five-star athlete Dylan Moses and four-star defensive end Malik Herring, were clearly shocked by the Miles news as evident in the tweets they sent out.

While it might be a little premature to tell how much the Miles’ firing will affect LSU’s 2017 recruiting class, retaining assistant coach Ed Orgeron as head coach on an interim basis should certainly help LSU weather the storm. If LSU is able to have a decent finish to the season, the Tigers will likely still finish with a strong class.
