Penn State commitment Ellison Jordan was presented with an Under Armour All-America jersey on Thursday morning in a ceremony presented by American Family Insurance, attended by friends, family and faculty at Gilman School in Baltimore, Maryland.

Jordan, the No. 142-ranked prospect in the class of 2016, says he fully realizes the importance of being selected for the nations top All-America Game.

“I think it’s a great honor,” said Jordan. “Just the type of players that play in the game, the best players in the country and the people associated with the game make it an honor. The week should really be to have fun, but compete. We should not take the experience for granted, and have fun every day.”

Jordan is the sixth Under Armour All-America participant from Gilman and feels fortunate to have the chance to carry on the tradition.

“I’m the sixth guy from Gilman to be selected to the Under Armour Game. I think it’s great, and there will be more in the 2017, 2018 and 2019 classes. I will represent the school proudly with dignity, respect and class.”

The No. 7-ranked prospect in Maryland committed to Penn State in late June of 2015, and hasn’t looked back or second-guessed his decision even for a second.

“Penn State, I love the environment. I know some guys already there that will help me get acclimated. I’ve been talking to Shane Simmons for a while. I like the feeling being there. It’s a family. It was the right fit for me.”

Five questions with Ellison Jordan:

What player are you looking forward to competing with or against in the Under Armour All-America Game?

I like Shane Simmons. I think he would be a great guy to line up next to. There are a lot of Maryland guys playing this year. Dwayne [Haskins Jr.], Terrell Hall, Aaron [Hansford] and Keandre [Jones]. It will be fun to compete with those guys.

What is your earliest football memory?

That would be sixth grade. I got a kickoff return for a TD from the front line. They tried an on side kick, and I returned it.

Which football player did you watch as a kid?

I really liked Ray Lewis. His motivation and the way he speaks got me fired up. He’s turned into a great mentor.

If you could take on any pro in their sport, who would it be and why?

I wouldn’t win, but LeBron James. He’s just dominant, he’s probably the best player in the world and his play pushes his teammates to get better.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I’m a real humble dude. I like talking to people, and being respectful. I’m genuine. It’s all about character, and being a good person.
