MLB draft expert Eric Longenhagen provided pick-by-pick analysis of the opening round of the 2016 MLB draft, as well as the compensation picks and the competitive balance round A, on Thursday night. On Friday, he had round-by-round analysis of Rounds 2-10. Tonight he provides general team-by-team analysis for Day 3 (Rounds 11-40).

The usual notes and helpful draft links still apply:

• Rounds 1-10 are all recorded on our draft tracker, and for all ESPN draft analysis, go to our 2016 draft page.

• The round the player was drafted is in parentheses. If the player's name links out, he has a pre-draft scouting report (written by Longenhagen).

• We use the 20-80 grading scale for all MLB prospects.

Let's wrap the 2016 MLB draft with the Day 3 highlights.

NL West

Arizona Diamondbacks: Pepperdine shortstop Manny Jefferson (13) has physical projection, fringe present power and an above-average arm. … Gabriel Gonzalez (27) from the College of Southern Nevada has a big-league repertoire -- low-90s fastball, average breaking ball, splitter -- but is wild.
