Baker's future post-Pepperdine

Sophomore Jordan Baker was an integral part of Pepperdine's offense during his two seasons at the Malibu school. The guard averaged 11.4 points per game, and while he wasn't the most efficient Wave on the squad, he took such a high percentage of shots in the offense that it is understandable why his offensive rating was well under 100. The 6-foot-4 guard still converted 37 percent of his threes -- an improvement from his inaugural year when he made just 28 percent -- and was emerging as one of the West Coast conference's top guards. However, according to a report by Andrew Payne of Scout, Baker will transfer from Pepperdine.

In late March, the school's student newspaper reported Baker was charged with an alcohol-related offense, and since Pepperdine is a dry campus, it makes somewhat sense that Baker was given his release by the program. It will be interesting to see where Baker lands; he was easily Pepperdine's best player at times last season, and being from Arizona, we would imagine there are a plethora of schools interested in a guard with Baker's skills. We will continue to keep an eye out for any news about Baker's post-Pepperdine destination.
