Will Roberson play in 2013-14?

Tyler Roberson is an integral part of Syracuse's 2013 recruiting class, a 6-foot-7 wing who should be able to play either forward slots in the 2-3 zone and use his ability to get to the bucket off the bounce, potentially becoming an integral part of the Cuse's offense in his freshman season. However, there is still the pesky question of whether Roberson will actually suit up for the Orange.

Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog.com spoke with Roberson's high school coach who confirms the wing, who is the only member of the Cuse's five-man recruiting class not at the ACC school, is still taking summer courses. This classes are integral to ensuring Roberson is eligible for his first college season, but Mike Waters of the Syracuse Post-Standard confirms the courses are a formality and Roberson is expected to suit up for coach Jim Boeheim during the squad's Canadian trip as well as the ten practice sessions that will precede the tour.

It will be interesting to see how Roberson is used by Boeheim and Co. The team's frontcourt is fairly deep, and the quartet of C.J. Fair, Rakeem Christmas, DaJuan Coleman, and Baye Keita will subsume the majority of the Cuse's interior minutes. Roberson's length and natural athleticism, though, might best his teammates in practices and warrant him seeing minutes as the season progresses.
