LONG BEACH, Calif. -- After a week where the offense ruled, the final day at the 2012 Area Code Baseball Games had a pair of 3-1 games bookending the Oakland A’s 9-2 win over the Chicago White Sox in the middle contest.

Leading the A’s offense was Granada (Livermore, Calif.) senior first baseman Ryan Kirby, who went 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs scored.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound left-handed batter hit .312 with three home runs this past season. He’s committed to the University of San Diego and is following in the baseball steps of his father, who won a Division II baseball title at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
