With pretty much all professional sports in the United States shut down due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, many Americans have found themselves scrambling to find something of a sporting nature to watch.
On Friday night, former NFL punter Pat McAfee was blown away when he stumbled across the Essendon vs. Fremantle game on late night television, and he stayed up until 3 a.m. to watch.
McAfee, who played eight seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, could not believe the speed of the sport, the constant "punting" and "completions," and the hard hits.
Less than 24 hours later, McAfee was on his podcast raving about the game and labeling Aussie Rules "the best thing that could ever have been made" and "maybe my favourite sport I've seen in my entire life."

Despite his newfound love for the game, McAfee hasn't yet picked a team to support.
"I'm not ready to declare my fandom just yet," he tweeted. "I think that's going to be a rather large decision for me ... Still trying to figure what the hell's going on first."
