News: 5 days agoSheldon averaged 5.4 points, 2.5 assists, 2.1 rebounds, 0.6 steals and 0.3 blocks across 23.3 minutes per game in 40 appearances (26 starts) during the 2024 season.

Spin: Sheldon, the No. 5 overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft, had a productive rookie season on a Wings team that finished 9-31 on the year. The 24-year-old averaged only 1.8 points in 10.9 minutes per game in the first 10 games of the season; however, she logged her first game of 20-plus minutes on June 15, and from there on was a major contributor in the rotation. Sheldon's final 29 regular-season appearances housed all 26 of her starts, and she averaged 6.8 points, 2.9 assists and 2.4 rebounds across 27.7 minutes in that span. The team could be preparing for a future without Satou Sabally and Natasha Howard, both of whom are entering free agency ahead of the 2025 season. This could open up more opportunity on the offensive side of ball for Sheldon alongside Arike Ogunbowale, who continues to be one of the best scorers in the WNBA. While Sheldon's numbers don't exactly jump off the page, she has plenty of room to grow and was able to display her WNBA readiness throughout her first season.
