      McNulty grabs a hat-trick as Coventry go goal crazy at Cheltenham

      Marc McNulty scored a hat-trick as Coventry City kept their play-off destiny in their own hands with a thumping 6-1 win at Cheltenham Town.Lee Burge parried a shot from Mohamed Eisa in the ninth minute, but Coventry soon took complete control.Tom Bayliss scored the first after a neat free-kick ended with Jordan Shipley supplying the cross that was well finished in the 11th minute.McNulty headed in the second from a Jack Grimmer cross in the 27th minute.A low ball in from Maxime Biamou was dummied by McNulty and Shipley fired in to make it 3-0 in the 38th minute.It was 4-0 two minutes before half-time as McNulty lifted the ball over goalkeeper Scott Flinders after Jordan Willis' ball forward.Cheltenham pulled one back in the 58th minute from a penalty after Eisa was brought down by Burge.Eisa converted from the spot for his 23rd League Two goal of the season.But Biamou's stunning overhead kick from McNulty's cross made it 5-1 in the 74th minute and McNulty completed his hat-trick with another fine finish four minutes later.

        Barry Corr edges Cambridge past Cheltenham in seven-goal thriller

        A late goal from substitute Barry Corr snatched Cambridge a 4-3 win against Cheltenham in a sensational Sky Bet League Two clash.George Lloyd scored his first senior goal for the visitors inside three minutes before Greg Taylor equalised from Jevani Brown's corner.Mo Eisa's superb free-kick restored the Robins' advantage with the game still only 13 minutes old.In first-half stoppage-time Medy Elito blazed a Cambridge penalty way over the crossbar amid controversy, as referee Brett Huxtable awarded a spot-kick for a foul on Brown despite Billy Waters scoring as the ball fell to him.The U's did get their equaliser after 53 minutes when Brown fed George Maris, who drilled a fine effort across Scott Flinders for his fourth goal in five games.Brown then sent Flinders the wrong way from the spot on the hour after Jordan Cranston conceded his second penalty by fouling substitute David Amoo.Eisa looked to have earned Cheltenham a draw with his second goal 11 minutes from the end but Corr struck the winner moments later to settle a superb encounter.

          Christian Doidge effort enough as Forest Green earn much-needed Cheltenham win

          Christian Doidge's 17th League Two strike of the season gave Forest Green's survival chances a major lift as they secured a 1-0 win at county rivals Cheltenham Town.The Welshman smashed a shot into the net from just inside the box after being teed up by strike partner Reuben Reid two minutes before half-time.It was nothing less than Rovers deserved after a solid display and Chelsea on-loan goalkeeper Bradley Collins was rarely troubled.At the other end, Scott Flinders had to touch a free-kick from Chris Clements over the bar in the 33rd minute.Reid fed Reece Brown in the box early in the second half and his effort on the turn was well gathered by Flinders as Rovers looked capable of scoring again.A flick from Gavin Gunning after a Reece Brown free-kick dropped just wide of the far post.Cheltenham's best effort was a low drive from Mohamed Eisa which was well saved by Collins, diving low to his left.The home side sent on two extra strikers for the last 15 minutes, but Forest Green defended well and Eisa skewed a rare chance well wide.

            Cheltenham cruise past Morecambe

            Three second-half goals secured a comfortable 3-0 home win for Cheltenham over Morecambe.Both goalkeepers pulled off outstanding saves during a goalless first period.Scott Flinders denied Kevin Ellison in the third minute and Ellison then crashed a shot against the post two minutes later as Morecambe made the brighter start.Cheltenham improved and Harry Pell forced Danijel Nizic into a smart stop with a header from Joe Morrell's free-kick in the 21st minute.Another Morrell delivery was headed towards goal by Will Boyle, but Nizic was again equal to it after half an hour.Pell glanced a Morrell free-kick wide in the 56th minute, but the breakthrough came two minutes later.Jerell Sellars beat two defenders and then saw his shot take a deflection and loop up and over the despairing dive of Nizic for his first Whaddon Road goal and second of the season.Boyle headed in the second in the 65th minute after a Pell nod down and Pell headed in George Lloyd's accurate cross at the far post to round off the scoring in the 73rd minute.

              Robbie Simpson marks return with goal as Exeter pick up big win over Cheltenham

              Robbie Simpson marked his return with a goal as Exeter came from behind to beat Cheltenham 2-1 and boost their hopes of promotion from Sky Bet League Two.Simpson was making his first start since suffering a broken ankle a year ago and he drew Exeter level before Jordan Storey's 81st-minute winner sealed the three points for the Grecians.Jayden Stockley hit the bar for Exeter, but Cheltenham went in front after 37 minutes when captain Carl Winchester picked the ball up some way out.The midfielder advanced forward and unleashed a fine low shot that beat Christy Pym from 20 yards and found the bottom corner.The Grecians were level three minutes before half-time, though, when Simpson volleyed home from Jake Taylor's superb cross.Exeter started the second half purposefully, with Dean Moxey striking the outside of the far post.Jerell Sellars came even closer for Cheltenham when his shot hit the inside of the post before being hacked clear by the Exeter defence.Exeter midfielder Hiram Boateng was next to hit the woodwork as his shot deflected onto the top of the crossbar and behind.However, in the 81st minute, Storey thumped a header home from Lloyd James' corner to seal a massive win for the fourth-placed hosts.
