      List goes on and scores for Gillingham

      Substitute Elliot List snatched a stoppage-time equaliser to earn Gillingham a battling point from a 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers.The 74th-minute replacement for Tom Eaves found room in a crowded penalty area to fire under diving goalkeeper Sam Slocombe in the fourth minute of added time.Rovers had looked set to take all three points when one of their substitutes, Dom Telford, headed them in front after 86 minutes, latching onto the rebound when his initial shot was blocked.But Gillingham never gave up and earned a share of the spoils from a drab end-of-season game.Both sides went close in the first half. Eaves hit a post against his old club with a 26th-minute shot and Lee Martin was adjudged to be offside when netting from the rebound.At the other end, Tom Nichols grazed an upright with a 30-yard drive after a neat turn to lose his marker and Ellis Harrison shot wide after latching onto a short back-pass from Bradley Garmston.

        Wigan stay on top thanks to Colclough strike

        Substitute Ryan Colclough scored an 80th-minute equaliser to keep Wigan's League One title bid on course with a 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers.A 67th-minute replacement for Gavin Massey, Colclough netted with a right-footed shot from the left corner of the box which slithered under the dive of Rovers goalkeeper Sam Slocombe.Rovers had taken a 28th-minute lead when the ball broke to Liam Sercombe 25 yards out and the midfielder strode forward to net with a low right-footed shot that skimmed along the wet surface.A match played in pouring rain saw the home side create the best first-half chances, Ellis Harrison firing wide early on and Kyle Bennett striking a post with a curling right-footed shot from the edge of the box.Wigan goalkeeper Christian Walton made a fine double save on 43 minutes to keep out shots from Sercombe and Byron Moore.Lee Brown hit a post for Rovers in stoppage time, but the visitors held on for a hard-earned draw to stay a point ahead of second-placed Blackburn.

          Rotherham secure top-six spot

          Rotherham sealed their place in the League One play-offs with a hard fought 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers.Michael Smith and substitute Caolan Lavery found the net to leave the Millers, aiming to secure an immediate return to the Championship, fourth in the table. Rotherham stormed ahead in the ninth minute when Smith burst through the defence and curled an unstoppable effort into the top corner.Will Vaulks had two chances moments after the goal but both flew just over the crossbar.The away side's first major opportunity was created by Byron Moore as he danced into the box from the right wing. His eventual shot was weak and was pushed out by Marek Rodak.Rotherham almost got a clinching second goal through substitute Ryan Williams but he could not get a clean enough touch on Joe Newell's near-post cross.Rodak remained alert throughout and he denied Kyle Bennett with a save with his legs.The points were sealed in the 90th minute with Lavery coming off the bench to turn in Newell's centre.

            Chris Lines denies Blackburn at the death

            Chris Lines volleyed an injury-time equaliser as Bristol Rovers dented Blackburn's automatic-promotion hopes with a 1-1 League One draw at the Memorial Stadium.The result left Rovers second in the table, five points above Shrewsbury, who have a game in hand. The visitors took a 65th-minute lead when skipper Charlie Mulgrew netted from the spot, sending Sam Slocombe the wrong way with low shot after Tom Broadbent had brought down Richard Smallwood.Derrick Williams should have made the game safe shortly afterwards, heading badly wide at the far post when it seemed easier to score.That kept Bristol Rovers in it and deep into stoppage time the ball dropped invitingly to midfielder Lines inside the box for him to beat David Raya with a sweet right-footed volley.There was little between the teams in a first half of few chances. Slocombe had to palm away an inswinging corner from Mulgrew in the sixth minute.Bradley Dack volleyed over for the visitors and was denied by a saving tackle by Tom Lockyer, while at the other end Kyle Bennett fired over the bar and Ellis Harrison forced a low save from Raya.

              Depleted Bristol Rovers hold in-form Charlton to a draw

              Injury-hit Bristol Rovers produced a battling display to hold promotion-chasing Charlton to a 1-1 League One draw at the Memorial Stadium.The hosts took a 21st-minute lead after an error by Charlton skipper Jason Pearce, whose header back to goalkeeper Ben Amos lacked sufficient pace and Kyle Bennett nipped in to shoot home from close range.Just before half-time the scores were level as Ben Reeves exchanged passes with Sullay Kaikai on the edge of the box and saw his shot brush the leg of defender Lee Brown to beat the dive of Sam Slocombe.The Rovers goalkeeper had made a brilliant 36th-minute save to keep out a curling right-footed effort from Nicky Ajose and repeated the heroics on 53 minutes to keep out a similar effort from Reeves.Already without half-a-dozen injured players, Rovers lost midfielder Liam Sercombe on 24 minutes and had to move captain Tom Lockyer forward from central defence. They gave a debut to 20-year-old left-back Michael Kelly in the closing stages.

                Hunter and Hiwula on target as Fleetwood see off 10-man Bristol Rovers

                Fleetwood Town took one mighty leap to League One survival with a 2-0 victory as 10-man Bristol Rovers became John Sheridan's latest victim.Sheridan has steered Fleetwood from the bottom four to 13th in a seven-match unbeaten run since taking the reins from Uwe Rosler and his side hit the 51-point mark with a gritty performance against Rovers.It was a clash that was as grey as the skies above Highbury until a second-half sending-off woke the game up.Bristol's Chris Lines only had himself to blame as he picked up two bookings in quick succession.The Bristol man was livid by referee Ross Joyce's refusal to award a set-piece after Ellis Harrison and Cian Bolger tangled in Town's half and received a yellow for his protestations in the 55th minute.But just two minutes later - even after Joyce had told skipper Tom Lockyer to calm his man down - Lines still persisted with his complaints and Joyce sent him for an early bath. Fleetwood used that man advantage to take the lead through Ashley Hunter, although Rovers nearly struck back but the woodwork thwarted a late Harrison screamer.Sheridan's men finally put the game to bed in the 89th minute as Jordy Hiwula latched on to Bobby Grant's through ball to calmly slot home with the hosts securing their fifth-straight clean sheet.

                  Lines holds nerves to complete Rovers comeback as Bury pay penalty

                  Chris Lines fired an 85th-minute winner from the penalty spot as Bristol Rovers came from behind to beat Bury 2-1 in an entertaining League One clash.Bury had the best chance of the first half as a Neil Danns volley at the far post from Zeli Ismail's corner was palmed away by Sam Slocombe.But the visitors had a major let-off just before the break when Nathan Cameron's over-hit back-pass beat goalkeeper Connor Ripley and the ball bobbled wide.Danns broke the deadlock in the 54th minute with a curling right-footed shot from 12 yards after the ball had broken to him in a crowded area.But Rovers were level 11 minutes later when Kyle Bennett's pass set up substitute Dom Telford to shoot low past Ripley from inside the area just two minutes after replacing Tom Nichols.And Lines completed the comeback late on as he sent Ripley the wrong way with his low penalty after Ryan Cooney was adjudged to have brought down Kyle Bennett.
