The New York Atlas secured an 11-8 win against the Maryland Whipsnakes on Friday at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, Utah.
Jeff Teat led the charge for the Atlas (6-2) with five points, including two goals and three assists. Connor Shellenberger added three points with two goals and one assist, while Xander Dickson contributed three goals of his own. Bryan Costabile chipped in a goal and an assist. Liam Entenmann recorded 20 saves in goal for New York.
For Maryland (3-5), Aidan Carroll (three goals and one assist) and Matt Brandau (four goals) contributed four points each. Adam Poitras also assisted twice during key moments of play. Emmet Carroll tallied 12 saves between the pipes for Maryland as he faced relentless pressure from New York's high-powered attack.
The game tilted toward New York because of its balanced offensive output combined with Entenmann's defensive performance.
Up next: Both teams are back in action Saturday. The Atlas face the Denver Outlaws at 1 p.m. ET (ABC and ESPN+), while the Whipsnakes take on the California Redwoods take at 8 p.m. (ESPN+).
