Tom Schreiber led the charge for Utah with five points, including three goals and two assists, as the Archers edged the California Redwoods 12-11 on Friday night at Villanova Stadium in Villanova, Pennsylvania.
The game saw the defending champions improve their record to 5-2 while handing the Redwoods (2-1) their first loss of the season.
Matt Moore added three goals for Utah, and Sam King contributed a crucial two-point goal and another one-pointer. Brett Dobson was stellar in net with 12 saves, including seven critical stops in the fourth quarter that sealed Utah's victory.
For California, Dylan Molloy had four points from two goals and two assists. TD Ierlan made an impact both offensively and defensively by scoring twice and adding an assist while also winning key faceoffs. Rookie Sam Handley impressed with three points, including a pivotal two-point goal.
Up next: The Redwoods take on the Outlaws on June 27 at 9 p.m. ET. The Archers will face the Outlaws on June 22 at 1 p.m. ET.
