Michael Sowers led the charge for Philadelphia with seven points, including two goals and five assists, as the Waterdogs secured a hard-fought victory over the Boston Cannons, winning 14-11 on Friday night at Villanova Stadium.
Sowers wasn't alone in making an impact for the Waterdogs (2-0) on their homecoming weekend. Thomas McConvey delivered a standout performance with four goals, while Kieran McArdle added three goals for his second consecutive hat trick. Jake Taylor contributed two goals, and Zach Currier chipped in with one goal and two assists. Goalie Dillon Ward made nine saves to help secure the win.
Despite the loss, several players from Boston (6-2) had notable performances. Coulter Mackesy scored three times for his first professional hat trick after going scoreless last week. Matt Campbell also tallied three points with two goals and one assist during his return to Villanova Stadium, where he played collegiately. Marcus Holman added a goal and an assist, and Asher Nolting recorded one goal and two assists.
