Lions say Amon-Ra St. Brown likely out 'week or two' with ankle injury

DETROIT -- Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was ruled out with an ankle injury after getting rolled up from behind while blocking for running back Jahmyr Gibbs at 6:19 in the first quarter of the team's Thanksgiving Day game against Green Bay.

St. Brown stayed down briefly after the play, with teammates Penei Sewell and Jared Goff standing beside him, before limping off the field and gingerly into the locker room.

He could be out for a week or two, according to Lions coach Dan Campbell.

After the Lions' 31-24 loss to the Packers, Campbell said he didn't think St. Brown's injury will be "long, long term." He added that he'll know more Friday.

"So that's the good news, but that doesn't mean it won't be here for, could be a week or two maybe, if we're lucky," Campbell said.

The All-Pro receiver leads Detroit with 75 receptions for 884 yards and nine touchdowns as a team captain in his fifth season.

After being ruled out, St. Brown's streak of 70 straight games with a reception was snapped. He is tied with Marvin Jones for the fifth-longest streak by a Lions player since 1970, per ESPN Research.

Without St. Brown, Lions receiver Jameson Williams stepped up with seven receptions for 144 yards, which were both career highs. Williams also high-stepped his way to a 22-yard touchdown with 25 seconds left before halftime.

The short-handed Lions, who next play the Dallas Cowboys at home on Dec. 4., are also dealing with key injuries to tight ends Sam LaPorta and Brock Wright, wide receiver Kalif Raymond and starting center Graham Glasgow.

"We know where we're at," Goff said. "We certainly know that this was consequential for division rankings and whatnot, but yeah, we've got to win the next one and find a way to beat Dallas."
