Vikings begin process to protect Bradford with OT Reiff (0:47)

Adam Caplan thinks adding Riley Reiff is a good addition for the Vikings, but Minnesota still has more work to do on the offensive line. (0:47)

The Minnesota Vikings are expected to sign former Detroit Lions OT Riley Reiff, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Reiff, the 23rd overall pick of the 2012 draft, has started every game in which he has appeared over the past four seasons for the Detroit Lions.

After starting his career as a reserve lineman, Reiff, who turned 28 in December, was the Lions' starting left tackle from 2013-15. He moved to right tackle last season after Detroit drafted Taylor Decker in the first round to start on the left side.

The 6-foot-6, 305-pound South Dakota native has had moments of dominance and struggle throughout his five years with the Lions on both the left and right sides of the offensive line.

ESPN's Michael Rothstein contributed to this report.
