Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Tom Brady catches own pass, then completes another to Mike Evans

Well, you don't see this every day.

In the fourth quarter Monday night at Raymond James Stadium, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady completed two passes and caught one -- all on the same play.

It started with the Buccaneers facing third-and-10 at their 34-yard line. Brady's first pass, apparently intended for receiver Mike Evans, was deflected at the line of scrimmage by Los Angeles Rams linebacker Terrell Lewis. The ball flew straight back to Brady, who caught it and instinctively threw it again toward Evans.

This time, Evans caught it for an 8-yard gain.

Referee Jerome Boger correctly penalized Brady for an illegal forward pass, but because Evans didn't get a first down, Rams coach Sean McVay declined the penalty to force fourth-and-2.

After some indecision in the press box, the game's official scorer ruled that because the illegal forward pass foul had been declined, the play would be counted as one 8-yard pass from Brady to Evans.

The Rams went on to defeat the Bucs 27-24. Tampa Bay is now 1-3 in prime-time games this season.
