Stone Memorial High School (Crossville, Tenn.), in its third year of existence and first with a girls' wrestling team, is proud to announce its second state individual champion. Junior Ashley Sherrill wrestled two matches to land a spot in the state finals at the Tennessee Girls Wrestling Championships. The meet was held February 18-20 in conjunction with the boyss state finals. In her 120-pound title match, Sherrill fought her opponent to the third round, an incredible feat for wrestling.

In addition to being the school's second state champion, Sherrill is also the second state champion in Cumberland County. Last track and field season, Stone Memorial high jumper Cameron Fox won a track and field state title.
