The Minnesota Lynx, behind MVP favorite Napheesa Collier, enter the WNBA playoffs as the favorite to win the fifth championship in franchise history and first since 2017, after losing in the finals last season to the New York Liberty. One more championship would make the Lynx the winningest franchise in WNBA history. The Lynx won their first round series, and now await the winner of the series between the New York Liberty and Phoenix Mercury.

The Las Vegas Aces finished the regular season as the hottest team in the WNBA, and enter as the second-favorites to win their third championship in four years. The team's 16-game win streak to end the regular season is the longest in WNBA history, according to ESPN Research, while star A'ja Wilson wrapped up her second consecutive scoring title.

The Aces will play the Indiana Fever in the second round, after the Fever scored their first playoff series win since 2015.
