Welcome to Week 9 and the latest edition of the fantasy football superflex rankings, combining the best of the running backs, wide receivers, tight ends and quarterbacks into one tidy package of 150 names to aid in your decision-making. Four NFL teams are on bye this week (Buccaneers, Lions, Seahawks, Washington). Running backs potentially returning from injury are in the news, so make sure your players are active before you make them active! Trust your gut -- and good luck in Week 9 and beyond!
1. Josh Allen, QB, Bills: Enjoying a stretch of games against the Dolphins, Jaguars (this week) and then the Jets. The Allen investors will be pleased.
2. Lamar Jackson, QB, Ravens: Is tied for ninth in the league in rushing yards. And he is 14th in passing yards. Um, wow.
3. Jalen Hurts, QB, Eagles: Lamar Jackson lite. Which is still awesome. Still not so appealing in dynasty, though, since the Eagles figure to upgrade.
4. Patrick Mahomes, QB, Chiefs: The interceptions continue, but he also has only one touchdown pass the past two games. Playing the Packers is a challenge, too.
5. Matthew Stafford, QB, Rams
6. Cooper Kupp, WR, Rams: How about a 2,000-yard wide receiver? Hey, it is not so silly.
8. Justin Herbert, QB, Chargers
9. Kyler Murray, QB, Cardinals: Has a left ankle injury and, in theory, he could sit versus the 49ers, but that sure seems unlikely.
10. Dak Prescott, QB, Cowboys: Then again, he sat out a Sunday night standalone game. His team won anyway.
11. Christian McCaffrey, RB, Panthers: Honestly, it is all just a guess at this point. If he plays, you play him. The Panthers might not even know for sure.
12. Tyreek Hill, WR, Chiefs
13. Najee Harris, RB, Steelers: A rookie might end up leading the NFL in rushing attempts. How about that!
14. Alvin Kamara, RB, Saints: Let us assume the Saints will keep him involved, regardless of quarterback. It is not like Jameis Winston was so great, you know.
15. Jonathan Taylor, RB, Colts
16. Aaron Jones, RB, Packers
17. Dalvin Cook, RB, Vikings
18. Deebo Samuel, WR, 49ers
19. A.J. Brown, WR, Titans: Has 288 receiving yards the past two games. That works.
20. Joe Burrow, QB, Bengals: Stunning loss to the Jets, but for fantasy, he got his numbers. Browns present a tough matchup.
21. Kirk Cousins, QB, Vikings
22. Carson Wentz, QB, Colts: Still makes some head-scratching plays, both for the good and bad. Ultimately, he is the No. 11 QB for the season in fantasy.
23. Ryan Tannehill, QB, Titans: He and the next fellow on the list have the same number of fantasy points. Only one of them gets never-ending criticism.
24. Daniel Jones, QB, Giants
25. Saquon Barkley, RB, Giants: Maybe this week, maybe not. Giants do have the Week 10 bye, so they should be patient. Do you feel lucky?
26. Darrell Henderson Jr., RB, Rams
27. Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Cowboys
28. Ja'Marr Chase, WR, Bengals: Figures to bounce back in receiving yards, but the touchdown threat is always there.
29. Justin Jefferson, WR, Vikings
30. Adam Thielen, WR, Vikings: He leads Vikings receivers in PPR points. Perhaps the rankings will reflect this soon.
31. Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Dolphins: Should put up numbers against the Texans, but then again, how much do you trust him?
32. Derek Carr, QB, Raiders
33. Stefon Diggs, WR, Bills: His yards-per-target average is way down from not only his first season in Buffalo but his final one with the Vikings. Be careful trading for him.
34. Joe Mixon, RB, Bengals
35. Nick Chubb, RB, Browns: You would feel much better about him if he had scored the touchdown instead of D'Ernest Johnson. No major worries here.
36. DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Cardinals: Still waiting for his first 100-yard game receiving. Season-best 87 yards did come in first 49ers game, though.
37. Davante Adams, WR, Packers: Indications are that he will return from the COVID-19/reserve list to face the Chiefs, but his starting QB is out. Have to downgrade some.
38. Diontae Johnson, WR, Steelers
39. Travis Kelce, TE, Chiefs: His yards-per-target average has never been this low. Cannot be all on Mahomes.
40. DJ Moore, WR, Panthers
41. CeeDee Lamb, WR, Cowboys: At least his real-life weekly fines do not affect his fantasy numbers!
42. Amari Cooper, WR, Cowboys
43. Michael Pittman Jr., WR, Colts: If Wentz continues finding him downfield, then he can be a WR1.
44. Keenan Allen, WR, Chargers
45. Mike Williams, WR, Chargers
46. Taysom Hill, QB, Saints: First of all, he might not start this week. If he does, his legs alone make him worth considering.
47. Jordan Love, QB, Packers: Let us not assume he will struggle in place of Aaron Rodgers. Love has the arm. He has the coaching. Has the talent around him. Yeah, take a chance.
48. Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Broncos
49. Tyrod Taylor, QB, Texans: Probably will not be as overwhelmed as Davis Mills, but does it really matter? Matchup with woebegone Dolphins is attractive, though.
50. Matt Ryan, QB, Falcons
51. Mike White, QB, Jets: Admit you had no idea who he was before you picked him up this week. No reason to expect another 26.1 PPR points.
52. Baker Mayfield, QB, Browns
53. Sam Darnold, QB, Panthers: His concussion could mean P.J. Walker gets the start -- and might not hurt team's chances of winning, too.
54. Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Steelers
55. Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, 49ers
56. Mac Jones, QB, Patriots
57. Justin Fields, QB, Bears: We know he can run. The Bears have to know it. Why do the Bears seem intent on him not running? Perhaps Week 8 was the beginning of Fields becoming Hurts.
58. Trevor Lawrence, QB, Jaguars: Another case in which the coaching is the problem. He looks nothing like a 4,000-yard passer with 20 touchdowns.
59. Josh Jacobs, RB, Raiders
60. Michael Carter, RB, Jets: Has 17 catches on 23 targets the past two weeks. Keep it coming!
61. Cordarrelle Patterson, RB, Falcons
62. Chase Edmonds, RB, Cardinals
63. Brandin Cooks, WR, Texans: He has 70 targets. No other Texans receiver has more than 20! Knowing this, good for Cooks that he overcomes defensive attention.
64. Courtland Sutton, WR, Broncos
65. Khalil Herbert, RB, Bears: No David Montgomery this week, either. Maybe the Bears really take their time on that one because Herbert looks fine.
66. Elijah Mitchell, RB, 49ers: Has exceeded 100 rushing yards in three of his five games, which is quite impressive. Can he stay healthy?
67. James Robinson, RB, Jaguars: Speaking of health, he has a heel injury. Stay tuned for news late in the week.
68. Damien Harris, RB, Patriots
69. Robert Woods, WR, Rams
70. Marquise Brown, WR, Ravens
71. Jaylen Waddle, WR, Dolphins
72. Tee Higgins, WR, Bengals
73. Jerry Jeudy, WR, Broncos: Only four catches in his return to active duty, but no Broncos player had more.
74. Cole Beasley, WR, Bills: Has three 20-plus PPR efforts in his past five games. Of course, in the other two games, he did next to nothing. Shrug emoji.
75. Chase Claypool, WR, Steelers
76. Kadarius Toney, WR, Giants: No doubting his talent, and he should matter regardless of whether other Giants receivers play.
77. Zack Moss, RB, Bills
78. Darren Waller, TE, Raiders
79. Kyle Pitts, TE, Falcons: Consistency, thy name is not a rookie tight end. You may never know if you will get 163 receiving yards, or 13, like the past fortnight.
80. Mark Andrews, TE, Ravens
81. Myles Gaskin, RB, Dolphins: Honestly, in retrospect, why was everyone so excited about him? On pace for fewer than 600 rushing yards, and nary a rushing TD.
82. Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, Chiefs: Could return from knee injury this week, though that seems a bit unlikely.
83. Javonte Williams, RB, Broncos
84. Melvin Gordon III, RB, Broncos: Scored two touchdowns last week but still not great volume here.
85. Jeremy McNichols, RB, Titans: Expect added touches but no guarantees of him being a great flex choice. Could be great, could be nothing.
86. James Conner, RB, Cardinals
87. AJ Dillon, RB, Packers: Packers might want to consider giving Dillon 16 touches every week, especially with Rodgers out.
88. Hunter Renfrow, WR, Raiders
89. Jarvis Landry, WR, Browns: Those 18 targets since his return certainly make a statement of potential fantasy relevance.
90. Corey Davis, WR, Jets
91. DeVante Parker, WR, Dolphins: Certainly getting enough targets to matter, and he has 77 or more receiving yards in three of five games. Keep the faith.
92. Boston Scott, RB, Eagles: Seems to be in the lead for running back touches with Miles Sanders out, but that could easily alter.
93. Mike Davis, RB, Falcons
94. Emmanuel Sanders, WR, Bills: Did nothing last week, but previous work keeps him on our collective minds.
95. Julio Jones, WR, Titans: It would be one thing if his performance was awesome, but 17 catches and zero touchdowns in five games is not.
96. Tyler Boyd, WR, Bengals
97. Mike Gesicki, TE, Dolphins
98. George Kittle, TE, 49ers: He's back! (Probably.) Samuel is so good it will be interesting to see what Kittle gets in targets. We might be disappointed.
99. Devin Singletary, RB, Bills: Nearly half his PPR points this season came in the first two games. In other words, not much of a play anymore, but it is Jaguars week!
100. Tony Pollard, RB, Cowboys
101. Nyheim Hines, RB, Colts
102. Van Jefferson, WR, Rams: And you thought DeSean Jackson would be happy with the Rams. Ha!
103. Noah Fant, TE, Broncos
104. Dalton Schultz, TE, Cowboys
105. DeVonta Smith, WR, Eagles: Put him on a team with an accurate QB and he might be Ja'Marr Chase. On this team, it is tough to rely on him.
106. Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Eagles: Yeah, the Eagles tricked us all. Nope, it makes no sense.
107. Latavius Murray, RB, Ravens
108. Marvin Jones Jr., WR, Jaguars
109. Jakobi Meyers, WR, Patriots: Only two Patriots WRs have receiving touchdowns. He is not one of them. We need more production to offset that.
110. Christian Kirk, WR, Cardinals
111. Jamison Crowder, WR, Jets
112. Allen Robinson II, WR, Bears: Imagine directing an offense from the sideline, seriously failing to get this fellow the football, and keeping a job. Hard to do.
113. David Johnson, RB, Texans
114. Rex Burkhead, RB, Texans: Scored a touchdown in Week 8, but seven touches hardly inspires confidence.
115. Darrel Williams, RB, Chiefs
116. Adrian Peterson, RB, Titans: Could be a great opportunity here, but then again, for PPR investors, not likely to catch many passes.
117. Mark Ingram II, RB, Saints: Have a feeling he is about to become relevant in fantasy, but perhaps not yet.
118. D'Ernest Johnson, RB, Browns
119. Darnell Mooney, WR, Bears
120. Tajae Sharpe, WR, Falcons: Perhaps he benefits from Calvin Ridley being away from the team, but tough matchup this week.
121. Russell Gage, WR, Falcons
122. A.J. Green, WR, Cardinals
123. Dallas Goedert, TE, Eagles
124. Zach Ertz, TE, Cardinals
125. Ty Johnson, RB, Jets
126. Damien Williams, RB, Bears
127. Kenyan Drake, RB, Raiders: Comes off the bye week having scored three touchdowns in his past two games. Just something to consider.
128. Jared Cook, TE, Chargers
129. Tyler Higbee, TE, Rams
130. K.J. Osborn, WR, Vikings: Minnesota has three flex starts, but if one of the receivers gets hurt, then everyone would add the Miami product.
131. Rashod Bateman, WR, Ravens: Rookie from Minnesota had 80 yards in his most recent game. Looks like he could matter, too.
132. Allen Lazard, WR, Packers
133. Laviska Shenault Jr., WR, Jaguars
134. Zach Pascal, WR, Colts
135. Jordan Howard, RB, Eagles: He went from the practice squad to multiple touchdowns sans warning. Oh, those wild Eagles!
136. Brandon Bolden, RB, Patriots
137. Mecole Hardman, WR, Chiefs
138. Marquez Callaway, WR, Saints: Yeah, we expected more than 19 catches over seven games. Stardom is not happening here.
139. Michael Gallup, WR, Cowboys
140. Jamal Agnew, WR, Jaguars
141. Elijah Moore, WR, Jets
142. Brandon Aiyuk, WR, 49ers: He averaged five catches per game as a rookie. Has no games this year with five. So much talent here that the 49ers keep ignoring.
143. Tim Patrick, WR, Broncos
144. Bryan Edwards, WR, Raiders
145. Salvon Ahmed, RB, Dolphins
146. Phillip Lindsay, RB, Texans: Those wondering if he would pick up touches after Ingram left got their unfortunate answer.
147. Samaje Perine, RB, Bengals
148. Devonta Freeman, RB, Ravens: He bears watching if Murray sits again, but only for deep leagues.
149. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR, Packers
150. Nelson Agholor, WR, Patriots: And we close with this former first-round pick, now on his third team in as many seasons, who is surprisingly averaging 15.2 yards per catch, which ranks 17th among qualifiers. Maybe target him more?
