Two big announcement have been made from two different AAA developers in the battle royale space today, less than an hour apart.
Activision-Blizzard first announced Call of Duty: Warzone, a free-to-play battle royale with multiple game modes as part of their Modern Warfare release.
Shortly afterward, Epic Games tweeted a video that announced the next iteration of the Fortnite Champion Series, which will take place during Chapter 2, Season 2.

Duos will take center stage this time around, beginning on March 20. Two tournament tracks will run concurrently on PC and console. Duos must be playing on the same platform.
The post on Epic Games official website continues:
"During FNCS, each week's event will send the top scoring Duos players per server region through to the Season Finals," the developer said in its announcement. "They will be joined by the highest ranked Duos players on the overall Series Leaderboard across the entire season."
Stage prizing is equal for both the PC and console groups. The weekly top prize in Stage 1 is as follows:
Europe $5,000
North America East $4,500
North America West and Brazil $3,000 each
Asia, Middle East and OCE $1,130 each
For the season finals, the first place team in each server will also receive a different share of the prize pool:
Europe, $70,000
North America East, $44,000
North America West and Brazil, $17,500 each
Asia, Middle East and OCE $10,000 each
The previous Fortnite Champion Series ended in December, with a $4 million prize pool throughout that competition.
