Dota 2: Vici advances to ESL One Hamburg finals

Vici Gaming claimed the first spot in the Dota 2 grand finals at ESL One Hamburg in Germany on Saturday by ousting Virtus.pro from the upper bracket.

Vici, who had beaten Team Aster in their first playoff match Thursday, edged Virtus.pro 2-1 in the best-of-three upper-bracket final of the double-elimination playoffs at the $300,000 Dota 2 tournament.

Virtus.pro is now relegated to the lower bracket, where they will face Team Secret on Sunday for the other berth in the best-of-five grand final, which will take place later that day.

Saturday's slate opened up with a lower-bracket match between Aster and paiN Gaming, which paiN won 2-1. Later, Secret swept paiN 2-0 to advance to the lower-bracket final.

Secret had advanced to the lower-bracket semifinals when they swept Evil Geniuses on Friday.
