Week 4, Day 1 of League of Legends Champions Korea kicked off with SK Telecom T1 effortlessly sweeping Jin Air Green Wings 2-0 on Tuesday in Seoul, South Korea.
SK Telecom T1 (6-1, 12-4 match record) brought a versatile, high-damage teamfighting composition into Game 1, whereas Jin Air Green Wings (4-3, 9-7 match record) brought a pick/teamfighting composition with an emphasis on the late game. SKT put the pressure on early in the match, executing perfect plays in the bot and mid lane through jungler Kang "Blank" Sun-gu's Lee Sin -- who got the starting nod over Han "Peanut" Wang-ho -- to get on the board.
Jin Air looked to force fights to stay relevant throughout the game, but SKT's objective control put JAG firmly behind. Jin Air did secure a desperation Baron kill at the 23-minute mark, but it wasn't able to do much with the buff. The game stalled out until the 33-minute mark, when SKT took a 3-for-0 teamfight victory to secure a Baron for itself and eventually crush Jin Air's defenses to go up 1-0 in the series.
Jin Air learned from its lack of global map pressure in Game 1, putting mid laner Lee "Kuzan" Seong-hyeok on Galio, while SKT stuck to a comfort draft that featured AD carry Bae "Bang" Jun-sik on Ashe and support Lee "Wolf" Jae-wan on Tahm Kench. The first 10 minutes of the game were quiet compared to Game 1, but SKT's stronger laning gave it the gold lead through teamwide CS (creep score) advantages.
Jin Air tried to find a way to shrink SKT's gold lead, but SKT's overwhelming map pressure with Ashe and Tahm Kench kept Jin Air pinned down. SKT blew the game wide open after finding a teamfight win around the Baron pit at the 26-minute mark, taking out four disorganized Jin Air members. Surging after that victory, SKT walked in and wiped Jin Air again in its base en route to closing out the game and the 2-0 series sweep.
SKT T1 will return to the Rift on Thursday to play ROX Tigers at 7 a.m. ET. Jin Air will return to play on Sunday at 4 a.m. ET against Samsung Galaxy.
