What happened yesterday?

  • Badminton: A rusty PV Sindhu was knocked out in the first round of the Arctic Open Super 500 by Michelle Li in her return to the BWF World Tour.

  • Table tennis: The Indian women's team confirmed the first-ever medal at Asian Championships by defeating South Korean in the quarterfinal.

  • Wrestling: Vinesh Phogat was elected as an MLA, saying it was "the victory of every struggle, every truth".

  • Chess: PBG Alaskan Knights continue to lead GCL standings.

  • Football: East Bengal appointed Oscar Bruzon as head coach after parting ways with Carles Cuadrat.
