The Lions are planning to release DT Danny Shelton, a source confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday. Shelton had been a 2020 signing by Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia. Shelton started all 12 games he played for Detroit last year, with one sack as a run-stopping DT. This move will give the Lions $4 million more in cap space with a dead money hit of $1.25 million.
